Blog | Ants! Delayed Ants!

The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) has to wait another month for time on UK cinema screens in Ant-Man and the Wasp

Just a short blog today I still hide from the heat and glaring sunshine outside. Saying that, it wasn’t too bad yesterday and it isn’t actually too hot today either – the main difference is that there’s no breeze at all to cool things down. The temperature’s got to that point where it’s a little too hot to be comfortable and refuses to drop at all.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Americans get their revenge on a lot of countries who usually get the Marvel Cinematic Universe films a little earlier, by getting its latest entry this weekend - way before some nations where the release has been delayed because of the World Cup.

I’ve said in a previous blog that I think delaying the release in some countries and not all was a little stupid, and I haven’t seen anything yet to make me think otherwise. Piracy, leaks, gifs and memes will spoil the film anyway, ending up with the film probably doing just as poorly outside the States as it would have if released normally.

By the way, Evangeline Lilly agrees. And flying ants appear to be invading the UK to really rub our noses in it.

Currently playing

God of War (2018) – I’m still making my way through it, although I’m not quite so sure it’s the masterpiece some have made it out to be. It’s a really, really good game, but there are a few complaints that stop it from reaching that top level for me, and something I’ll go over in a review when I’m finished with the thing.

Currently watching

Gilmore Girls season 1 – seven episodes in and enjoying it more now, although it definitely feels very much of its time. The dialogue is great, but I’m still not sold on a number of the recurring characters just yet – Luke is the only real standout for me, after the title characters of Lorelai and Rory themselves.
