21 Bridges

They picked the right man for the job, and he'll burn bridges if it gets results.

MOVIES

- 21 Bridges plot summary: An embattled NYPD detective is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy. (IMDb)

- If I can say anything positive about 21 Bridges, it's that it's worth watching once just for Chadwick Boseman's performance alone.

- Then, when the movie is over, it hits you again just how massive a talent was lost to the world in 2020.

- The cast isn't stacked or anything, but it's not like there's a bunch of no-name, no-talent dross when you've got the likes of J. K. Simmons and Keith David in supporting roles either!

- That said, 21 Bridges isn't the greatest movie ever, more like merely competent.

- There's nothing poor with any aspect of the movie, but neither is there anything truly remarkable outside of Boseman's gigawatt levels of talent and charisma.

- I have to admit that it makes it hard for me to write about, as I only tend to mention things that stood out and there's little to say about this movie.

- What I will say is that I was initially worried that this was going to turn out to be a form of 'copaganda', but that thankfully isn't the case and I won't spoil exactly why.

- Besides, with Boseman also acting as a producer, a copaganda movie was never really going to happen anyway.

- I can't recommend 21 Bridges and neither can I say it's one to avoid; I would say it's worth at least one watch just to see Chadwick Boseman in action, because his performance is worth it. [5/10]

GAMES

- Little Misfortune was going to be the next game I started, but still haven't got around to it yet!

- Meanwhile, I have reinstalled Banished as I wanted a city builder to play and that's a fun one to dip into to scratch that particular itch.

- I'm also still chipping away at Baldur's Gate 3 and Mass Effect 3, all while wishing there were more games like them.

TV

- Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch is down, only one left to go.

- It continues to be consistently high quality (especially how it looks), but there hasn't been anything yet that I feel will stick in the memory once it's over, unlike the peaks of The Clone Wars.
