2024-2025

Looking back and looking forward at the same time - quite the contortionism.

2024

- I don't really see the point of doing a 'Best of 2024' post as I barely watched or played anything from 2024, but here's a summing up at least...

- For movies, Poor Things edges out The Iron Claw and both pretty easily beat Deadpool & Wolverine.

- To be fair, 1000xRESIST would've been my game of the year in a lot of previous years, and even more so in 2024 when the only other game I played that was released this year was the half-decent Harold Halibut.

p - On TV though, it would've been between The Bear's third season and Star Wars: The Acolyte, and neither were what you'd call excellent.

2025

- A new year's resolution is to get back to watching a lot more movies in the year they're released, even if that is on streaming services.

- I also want to simply watch more movies in general thanks to how compact a form of story-telling they are: far faster to get through than a book, TV show and most games!

- As for gaming, it'll really depend on what's released as I wasn't interested by many games at all in 2024, which is why I kept going through Baldur's Gate 3 and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.

- Hopefully, there'll be something that appeals to me, although having stopped my Game Pass subscription due to constant price-raising, I might end up just making the next post like this focus on 'best game I played for the first time in 2025' rather than 'best game released in 2025'.

- I want to watch more TV shows too, although this might also be a year of getting through the backlog so I can actually watch new seasons of a show without jumping in partway through.

- Let's see if I can actually have a post after 2025 ends that really does cover the best movies, games and TV shows released this year!
